I am pleased to announce the creation and availability of the Youth Pride
Alliance (YPA) Co-sponsorship Grant. Our goal for this product is to  broaden our outreach and strengthen our ability to serve the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Queer, and/or Questioning (LGBTQQ) youth community by co-sponsoring “safe space” events or programs. We are a resource to this community and welcome the opportunity to further publicize the mission of YPA. There are two types of YPA Co-Sponsorship grants. Mini-Grants are for our co-sponsorship of any safe-space event or program, education, and/or social programming for LGBTQQ youth in which no admission fees are expected to be charged. Examples of qualifying activities might include poetry slams, picnics, or trips to distant events. Mini-grants are awarded at $250 and do not require
repayment.

Underwriting Grants are similar to the Mini-Grants except that the co-sponsored event is expected to generate income, for example, through
admission fees or other sponsorships. Ideally, the event is projected to turn a profit, that is, revenue from all sources are expected to exceed total costs for the event. Underwriting Grants can be for up to $500. The Underwriting Grant is expected to be repaid (up to the lesser of the amount of the grant or the profit generated). Such repayments will allow YPA to continue to provide financial assistance to the LGBTQQ youth community. Underwriting Grants are intended to help with the financial risks involved in the production of an activity.

Exceptions to repayment requirement may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Applications for either grant should not exceed two pages, including all relevant information. We want the application process to be simple yet give us enough information to evaluate your request.
